A Note About Event Planning:
EFFORTS members are encouraged to both help plan and execute events to celebrate 2010
as Year of the Lung, and especially for World Spirometry Day, which is scheduled for
October 14, 2010 and for World COPD Day, scheduled for November 17, 2010.
To help you with your planning, these goals and objectives are suggested for World Spirometry Day:
Goals and Objectives
Raise awareness about spirometry amongst ACCP and ATS members and general health-care community
Energize and enable target audiences to participate in World Spirometry Day (October 14, 2010)
Recognize the value of spirometry and/or targeted testing
- -Case Finding (‘Selected Earlier Detection’) vs Screening
Advocate and promote spirometry
- -In a way that’s appropriate for each organization/audience
- -Not necessarily a specific approach
- Questionnaire to determine risk
- Spirometry device
As we get closer to World COPD Day, we hope to be able to publish similar goals and objectives
to help you in planning for those events.
Please send us links to your event so we can include them on this page!
